My Top Ten Albums of 2007

Christmas is over and the new year will be upon us very shortly. Like everybody else I have a list of my favorite music of the year. I will not go in great details why I have chosen these albums and the order that I have placed them. If you haven’t heard some of these I hope you take a few minutes and maybe you’ll discover something new. In the comments you can tell me which are your favorites and I may discover something new.

10 – LCD Soundsystem – Sound of Silver

    9 – Feist – The Reminder

8 – Robert Plant & Alison Krauss – Raising Sand

7 – Amy Winehouse – Back to Black

    6 – Ryan Adams – Easy Tiger

5 – Spoon – Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga

    4 – Wilco – Sky Blue Sky

    3 – Elliott Smith – New Moon

    2 – Arcade Fire – Neon Bible

    1 – Radiohead – In Rainbows

My choice for the top three was very easy to make the rest of the list was a bit harder to compile.

I only listened to the Plant/Krauss album a couple of times, but I did think it was better than I expected. Considering Plant’s past work, I wasn’t anticipating a great chemistry, but the two voices really worked together. I’ll have to listen to it more in 2008.

Think Before Speaking (Caution contains cuss words)

A few days ago someone told me that my blog was uninteresting and boring. All I have got to say is Fuck You with a capitol F and a capitol Y you fucking asswipe. If brains would be dynamite you couldn’t even blow your nose. You are the poster child for abortions. When God made you He broke the mold because he did not want to make that mistake twice. When God was handing out brains you taught He said trains, didn’t you? You are dumber than a bag of hammers. You may look like an idiot and you may talk like an idiot, don’t let that fool you. You really are an idiot. You don’t know the meaning of the word “fear”, but then again you don’t know the meaning of most words. You should learn from your parents’ mistakes – use birth control. You have a full six pack, but you lack the plastic thingy which holds it all together. If I was in a room with you and two werewolves, and I had a gun with two silver bullets, I’d shoot you… twice. If your parents got a divorce would they still be brother and sister? The wheel’s spinning, but the hamster’s on break.

Don’t get me wrong I have nothing against constructive criticism but what irks me is that when I asked him what post he read, he could not tell me. He was trying to get my goat and he got it. I hope that he reads this post and chokes on it.

What? Wait a minute… I guess I misunderstood, he said that it was interesting and certainly not boring. Whoops, I guess you have to disregard this post. Please forget what you read and I am sorry for the misunderstanding.

    Cheers.

    Happy Birthday to Me

This one will be short, be warned. Yesterday was my birthday. I did not get an iPod Touch. spaceI bought myself a pen, scratch that a very nice pen. I wanted an iPod Touch. I guess I’ll live. I’m just kidding, I did not really want an iPod. I’ll wait until my present iPod goes on the fritz before I entertain the idea of getting an iPod touch and hopefully by that time the flash drive in it will be larger.

I have just read that Bionic Woman is to be cancelled. It never really caught on. Another NBC show cancelled was Journeyman, I watched every episodes and I won’t miss it when it is off the air. I intend to watch Tin Man the sci-fi remake of The Wizard of Oz that aired on The Sci-Fi network last week, apparently it is good, we’ll see.

As I said at the beginning this one is short and I am a man of my word. The end.

I love these pens, I recently bought an all black one. I am addicted to having a pen and sketch book with me at all times and this really is the perfect pen that fits in any pocket.

      Cheers,

      Reid

    Conspiracy: Truth or Fiction

Today at work we had a television set on the Discovery channel. It was a show on a conspiracy theory. The theory was that Robert Kennedy was killed by the CIA. Apparently Sirhan Sirhan was brain washed by the CIA into killing Bobby Kennedy.

There are a lot of conspiracy theories out there and one could say that some are at least plausible. We all know about the one that JFK was not killed by Lee Harvey Oswald. We also know about the one that on July 7th 1947 a UFO crashed near Roswell and was later covered up by the army. Jesus was married to Mary Magdalena and they had children is another theory but most of us do not believe in this one.

The problem I have with these theories is we tend to believe the one we want to believe in and deny the others, but if we believe in one theory we must believe in them all. Why? Well because they all have lots of “evidence” pointing that the official story is wrong and someone is trying to hide what really happened. How can we decide which of the “indisputable evidence” are correct and which are wrong. There is no middle ground. It’s all or nothing.

Here is my conspiracy theory: Aliens have crashed on earthmars in 1947, JFK was not shot by Lee Harvey Oswald but by the Mafia for the CIA which has been controlled by the aliens since 1947. Bobby Kennedy was also killed by the CIA, again the aliens. We did not land on the moon because there is a face carved on it by the aliens. There is a huge face carved on the face of mars just like the one we did not get to see on the moon because we did not land there because the aliens would not allow us to. The American Government knew of the impending attack on the World Trade Center because reporters were going to find all the records of alien involvement in the New World Order and that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalena which gave birth to a slew of super intelligent human that have been in contact with the aliens for two millennia.

How about that for a conspiracy theory? It is the ultimate unified conspiracy theory. It must be the truth since there is so much evidence backing it up. That is it for now. The truth is out there. I want to believe.

p.s. I forgot to mention that the pyramids were built by the aliens. Big foot is an alien, yeah that’s right they are not little green creatures but big brown and hairy. Alf from the television show by the same name was not a puppet but a child alien. Noah’s ark was really a space craft built by aliens. Easter Island, you know it, aliens again. And finally aliens are not really aliens, they used to be from Atlantis, they left earth and they are now comming back and they want us to return to Mars where we come from, yeah that’s right we are the aliens and the aliens are really the eartlings.

p.p.s. The X-Files are all based on facts, so was Stargate the movie not the television show. Vista is the best computer Operating System there is and ever will be.

    Christmas Gift Giving

Can you believe it, December is already here. Time flies by when your having fun. Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet? Well I was done last week. All I have to do is wrapped them up. Some of you will say that Christmas is over commercialised and it is not what it should be, the celebration of the birth of Christ. I think that Christmas is not about getting gifts, it is about giving. That’s deep isn’t it? It is what I think though. It’s not how much you spent to buy someones love but about giving from your heart. So all of you out there that will be spending more than you can afford and max out your credit cards, I won’t try to stop you but is all that spending going to make you feel good? Will it make them love you more? If it does, they don’t love you, they love what your money can buy them. I’ve seen some people trying to out do each other in who will spend the most on Christmas gift. If you enjoy that then by all means shop to your hearts content and if you have extra cash you can send it to me I promise that the more money you give me the more I’ll love you.

Last Wednesday I gave one of the most important gift I can give. I gave blood. I know, I know, I keep harping about giving blood on this blog but I’ll keep on asking you to give until everybody that can give will give. It only take a few minutes and you’ll be helping someone in need. In this case I’ll say that the more you give the better it is. Please start giving and keep on giving every 3 months or so and that would be the best Christmas gift you can give.

In less than nine days it will be my birthday, so I’ll say it again giving gifts are more important than getting so you can send me all the gifts you want and if you don’t know what to get me I’ll take cash, I have to pay for all the Christmas gifts I have bought. I would also like to get an iPod Touch, not the cheap 8GB one but the good 16GB one. I am not asking for the iPod for Christmas, because like I said Christmas is about giving. I am asking for the iPod for my birthday since I’ll be getting older and we all know that getting expensive gifts reduces the effects of old age.

Well that is it for this the first post of December.

p.s. I forgot to mention Hanukkah, which this year starts at sundown on December 4th this year. I am not sure of the correct etiquette but do I wish you a happy Hanukkah, or is it a merry Hanukkah, or is it a joyous Hanukkah? So that I cover all my bases I wish you a happy, merry and joyous Hanukkah.

I used to give blood. I was very bad at it. The last time, I nearly passed out. I did all the right things. I ate just before giving. I drink water all day. I guess the low blood pressure is what did me in. Also, my heart would “skip” but that has been fixed.

I haven’t been able to give in the last 4 1/5 years due to being pregnant or breastfeeding. I know that my blood is wanted. it’s O negative.

Maybe I’ll try giving blood again soon.

Thanks Accountable, I hope that you start giving blood again. That would be almost as good as getting an iPod Touch for my birthday.
