The New Look

Hey everybody, do you like the new and improved look of No Name Blog? I hope you do, great and if you don’t, too bad I like it. I’ll continue to work on the blog so you will be seeing changes the next few times you’ll visit. Enough of that for now.

Did you watch the series finale of The Sopranos last Sunday? What do you think? I think the The sopranosending was fitting for this great television show. I loved it that it ended without closer. You can decide how it ends. I know a lot of people where disappointed but I wasn’t, it shows that David Chase had the balls not to end the show in a predictable way. I usually love shows or movies or books where the hero dies in the end, it shakes things up. In this case the ending was appropriate because Tony Soprano was not a hero, he was a stone cold killer that fucked around on his wife and would have done anything he could for a quick buck and we loved him for it. We could not get enough of it. It goes to show: everybody loves a winner. It’s not how you play the game, it’s by how much you win that counts. Crime does pay. Its only a crime if you get caught. All is fair in love and war. Enough with all these clichés.

One thing I learned this week is don’t ask a question if you don’t want to know the answer. Case in point I went to get my oil changed in my car and the salesman who sold the car to me and and a car to my father asked me how my father was doing. I answered truthfully “He’s dying” you should have seen the look of discomfort on his face. I then proceeded in explaining to him what myelodysplasic syndrome was and he was so uncomfortable he was squirming. He looked relieved when the receptionist paged “(salesman name) line 37”, he could not get away quick enough. When I sat down and got to thinking about it I realized that I did the same thing, and I’m sure you do too. The warped sense of humor part of my brain was also working: just imagine if I started crying when he asked how uncomfortable he would have felt.

Well I guess I’ll call it a day and end with a Mark Twain quote, who doesn’t like a Mark Twain quote? “Familiarity breeds contempt … And children” You may be asking yourself what this has to do with this post, Nothing!
